Athletes Support Amani Foundation

Our Men's & Women's Track & Field Teams have been busy this weekend raising money for the Amani Children's Foundation.

The team raised money by making jewelry out of Kenyan beads that were in some way defective and therefore not good enough to be used there. They took these beads to create beautiful pieces of jewelry. 100% of the money collected from the sells of the jewelry goes to support a Kenyan orphan to be adopted by Kenyan parents. It take $1,000 for an orphan to be adopted.

Valentine's Day Traditions with HPU Track & Field

We asked our team to share their Valentine's Day traditions with us, and there is a surprise interview at the end.

Jesse Cherry's 5k at Husky Classic

Track and Field Videos on Flotrack

Jesse ran 14:02.86, breaking his own school record.

And here is Cole Atkins's race

Track and Field Videos on Flotrack

Cole had to run as an unattached runner because he doesn't have indoor eligibility, but he's the one in the purple jersey who starts in the back row against the wall. He leads the chase pack in the early half of the race. The announcers don't know who he is because he was supposed to be in heat 1, but was moved to heat 2. He finished 4th in his heat, running a personal best 14:17.66.

Congrats to both!

Words of Wisdom

We polled our athletes to see if their parents provided them with any sort of wisdom, repeatedly over the years, and here's what we found.
